Erin Daughtery

RN BSN

Erin is a registered nurse with over 15 years of experience in pediatric and neonatal critical care. An advocate for families living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), her work is shaped by her own family’s diagnosis of hypermobile EDS in 2012, giving her a unique dual perspective as both a clinician and a parent navigating rare disease.

Erin also shares her family’s two-year legal and child-protection battle stemming from a diagnostic dispute, during which they faced false allegations of Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another and Medical Child Abuse. Their story is featured in the documentary Complicated (2025), where Erin offers a powerful firsthand account of this growing, often unseen issue in medicine.

Previously, Erin served as a Clinical Nurse III at CHOC Children’s Hospital of Orange County, working in a Level 3 NICU and the Critical Care Float Pool. Her clinical background informs her advocacy, helping her bridge the gap between patient care, family experience, and the medical system.

Erin continues to support and educate the EDS community through public speaking and advocacy. She lives in Central Oregon with her husband, Kevin, her adult children, Zoe and Zachary, and their two golden retrievers.
